Working with Quicksilver is ticking many of the boxes I was hoping to embrace moving overseas. While experiencing a variety of different teachers with public classes, things such as contact improv, choreography and partner work cannot be developed in the same way. Rehearsing consistently with a group, getting to know one another mentally and physically is a gratifying thing, and having that time spaced out each week is giving me something to look forward to. Developing for a performance in January? Even more exciting.
Performing to Prokoviev’s work “Trapeze”, and being characterised as a tightrope walker, I thought I should start looking into what it is that tightrope walker’s do… It seems pretty straight forward, until you stand there, trying to use your knowledge and realising there’s only so much inspiration to be gained from walking along a fine line several feet above and audience.
Here’s something quite amazing I discovered, a company completely comprised of tightrope walkers. What they can do is incredible… Have a look! For more information on the company visit their website: Les Colporteurs
